The Yarralumla river crossing is a small concrete bridge over the river that is part of the Bicentennial National Trail. It is located just behind the Equestrian Centre and the historic Yarralumla Woolshed. Currently there seems to be no other way to drive near to the crossing.
There is a cycle path nearby that follows the river and this may be another way of getting here.
It is only a 10-15 minute walk to the river via dirt trails. The trail starts to the left of the Woolshed and wanders past various scenic parts of the equestrian centre that are themselves photogenic. It then descends to the river.
Beacuse of heavy rain previously, I was unable to cross the bridge as it was partially under water. There are photographic options along the side of the river, however you will need to clamber over rocks to get to the better locations.
Good footwear is recommended near the river as you are walking on river stones, and if the trails are wet.
There are no toilets available.
I have yet to expore the other side of the river.
Take the Yarralumla Woolshed turn off Cotter Road.
You have to drive through and then re-close the fence across the road, and then drive down to the Woolshed.
There is free grass or roadside parking available.
