One Tree Hill is at the end of a 4km trail that starts in Hall. The trail progressively climbs up the sides of a few hills before presenting a steeper climb to the summit. It takes about 3 hours to get up and back. The trails are all in good shape and there are several cattle grids to be traversed.
From the summit of One Tree Hill there are views across Canberra and looking down to the newer suburbs of Taylor and Moncrieff.
The trail actually winds between a lot of fenced-off private land, so there is no opportunity to go cross-country.
There are no toilets on the trail. There is no shade at the top. Make sure you take some water.
The start of the One Tree Hill walking trail is in Hall, on the corner of Hoskins St and Hall St.
There is only on-street parking available.
