Shepherd's Lookout

Summary

This is a high lookout in West Belconnen overlooking the Molonglo River.

It faces West, so in the afternoon you can be looking towards the sun.   You can get great pictures towards sunset as the sun dips below the Brindabellas, or when the sun is poking out of clouds.

It is also a good place for birds, as eagles and similar birds ride on the updrafts created at the lookout.

The lookout is about 500m from the carpark, and there is a good trail between them.

There are no toilets near the lookout.

The lookout is also the start of the Shepherds Lookout hiking trail that takes you down to the river.
