This is the dam that holds the water in Lake Burley Griffin.
It is worth visiting after rain as you can get good images of the water being released down the spillway. There is usually some water flow from the dam for river environmental preservation.
It is also good for taking photos on foggy Winter evenings. But be prepared for the cold.
There are no toilets here.
The lookout for the dam is on Lady Denman Drive. This road actually crosses over the dam itself.
There is a free carpark at the lookout.
