Belconnen

Summary

Belconnen has a lot of photographic opportunities, but most of them seem to be near the lake.

You can easily walk around the lake (crossing over the lake at Ginninderra Drive) and it will probably take you an hour.

Belconnen arts centre

A somewhat abstract building on the shore of the lake.   Good for architecture or abstract photography

Emu bank boardwalk

On a nice day this area is a popular spot for people and families to take a walk.   Maybe because of the take-away places nearby.  Good for people photography.

John Knight Memorial Park

BBQ and picnic area with kids playground.   Also lots of trees and grass areas.  There is a stream and waterfall that I enjoy photographing.  Good for people photography and people exercising (running, cycling, etc).    Lots of waterbirds (ducks, swans, seagulls) that aren't afraid of people.   Small beaches and viewing areas for the lake and the birds.

Belconnen Town Centre

A collection of shopping malls, high-rise residential, and offices.   Just the thing for photos of architecture.
