This is the large lake at Belconnen. It takes about an hour to walk around, and it is popular with cyclists. There are a lot of places with views out across the lake, so there are many photographic opportunities. At one point you'll need to cross the lake via a road bridge and another over the dam wall.
It's an easy 7km walk about the lake.
There are plenty of water birds (eg swans & ducks) in and around the various bays such as at John Knight Memorial Park.
You can take some very moody photos in Winter when there is fog.
There are public toilets a different points around the lake where picnic areas are set up.
The lake is next to the Belconnen town centre.
There are several free car parks around the lake near the various recreation areas. It will be hard to find a free parking space nearest the Town Centre during work hours Mon-Fri, but still plenty if you move away from that area.
