The library is perhaps the most photogenic building in the National Triangle as it follows a more classical design. It also has a pleasant reflection on the surface of Lake Burley Griffin.
Inside, the main public space is the ground flooor. On this floor leading from the main foyer is a gift shop and cafe. Deeper in the building are the public reading rooms and the exhibition space.
The exhibitions change from time to time.
There are toilets here. Downstairs are free lockers for larger bags. These are only necessary if you want to use the reading rooms.
The library is on the shore of Lake Burley Griffin, near the Commonwealth Ave bridge.
There is plenty of parking nearby. There is free parking on weekends.
