Also known as Telstra Tower, this landmark dominates the Canberra skyline. We all use it for navigation - if you can see it, you aren't totally lost.
The tower has both an enclosed and an outdoor observation deck. There was a restaurant level, but this is currently closed. You have to pay to go up to the observation deck. There are some opportunities for photographs at ground level, but nothing like what you can see at the top of the tower.
Both observation decks give you a 360 degree view of Canberra, however the outdoor one is subject to wind and rain. The outdoor one is reached via some stairs from the enclosed observation deck.
There are toilets and a snack bar at the inside observation deck.
The tower is at the top of the mountain. It is reached via Black Mountain Drive that is off Clunies Ross St, right next to the entrace to the National Botanical Gardens.
There is plenty of paid parking at the top.
